I build hardware that has to work outside a demo.

Liquid crystal, printed airframes, competition robots.

Most first attempts fail. That failure is the data.

Everything here is something I actually built.

Optical Treatment for Photosensitive Epilepsy

Year
Since 2023
Stack
Liquid Crystal · OpenCV · Python

A liquid-crystal filter that blocks flickering light without distorting color. I fabricated custom 50 μm cells at UW and NTHU, reaching 53.7% peak transmission reduction; an OpenCV pipeline catches seizure-triggering flash patterns at 81% accuracy. Manuscript in preparation.

Custom FPV Drones

Category

Year
Since 2023
Stack
CAD · Soldering · PID

Three FPV drones built from scratch: a 5-inch racer, a 65mm tinywhoop, and a 2-inch cinewhoop. Parts selection, soldering, and my own PID tunes, reaching 100+ mph and 10-minute flight times on a 1500TVL analog link with sub-50ms latency. (FAA registered.)

FTC Robotics: Team 16965

Category

Year
2023 to 2026
Stack
Fusion 360 · Mech Design · Autonomy

Design and build lead for Team 16965 across three seasons: 100+ custom parts, and a tag-based spline path planner that drove a world-record autonomous match average of 76.33 — the 99.35th percentile of 8,000+ teams.
